Aironn Fan Engineering organized a seminar on 15 February 2017 at the Sheraton Grand Istanbul Ataşehir Hotel by the name of "Experts of the Sector: Ventilation and Smoke Control in Parks and Tunnels - Jetfan Applications Air" seminar.
The event program, which started with recording and welcome cocktail, started with the opening speech of Uğur Akgül from Aironn. "First of all, thank you for your participation. In such a magnificent meeting, I leave my opening speech to another time in order to be able to evaluate our every minute in the best way", said Ugur Akgul.
The seminar was chaired by Professor. Dr. Abdurrahman Kılıç started with a presentation titled Jetfan System and Automation in Closed Car parks.Kılıç's presentation included the following topics: Causes of vehicle fires, Exhaust gases, Effects of carbon monoxide, Maximum permissible CO concentrations, Air exchange quantities and unit surface fan capacities in CO ventilation according to countries, Parking smoke cleaning, evacuation and control, Smoke control standards, Air conditioning and smoke evacuation in parking lots, car park smoke control zones and fan capacities, comparison of Jetfan and ducted systems, Axial and radial fans structures, Jetfan automation, Fire detection in parking garages.
In the presentation titled "Parking Jet Jet System and Design Principles ”, Sarven Çilingiroğlu gave the following titles: Standard ventilation flow rates and air exchange coefficients, Fan capacity calculation in multi-storey car parks, Coefficient factor and coefficient, Jetfan placement, Consideration of escape routes, Clean air and exhaust shaft positions, Fire response and distance of fire brigade, Activation of fans and energy supply, Effect of beams and columns, effect on sprinkler system, CFD analysis.
Dr. Mustafa Bilge gave the following titles in his presentation titled "Testing and Acceptance of Smoke Evacuation Systems in Subway Tunnels": Tunnel ventilation system and its importance, Design criteria in tunnel and stations, Fire scenarios with real examples, Tunnel air velocity measurements, Cross-Passage velocity measurements, In-station fire simulations (smoke tests). In his presentation, Bilge also included real images from Marmaray Test Adjustment Balancing.
The final presentation of the seminar program was carried out by Aironn R & D Manager Efe Ünal. In his presentation titled "Basics of Ventilation in Highways Tunnels", Ünal conveyed information under the following headings: Standards of the country for natural ventilation, Tunnel mechanical ventilation types, Tunnel ventilation purposes, Pressure losses in tunnel ventilation, Fire case examples in tunnels, Emergency ventilation, Chimney effect in inclined tunnels, Fan thrust force calculation.
Following the dynamic question-answer session, which took place under the moderation of Prof. Dr. Kılıç and turned into a forum, the program ended with a pleasant dinner.
