TAP (Tunnel Analysis Program) was introduced to the sector at the end of two years of Aironn R & D team. TAP software was presented by Efe Ünal in "Experts from the Sector are Meeting" held by Aironn on December 22, 2017 at Ankara Latanya Hotel. Efe Ünal introduces the software with the following details: “TAP is the software that makes the longitudinal ventilation calculations of one dimensional jet fan in highways tunnels. The calculations include both daily and emergency ventilation accounts. Specifies the number of jet fans to be used according to the specified locations. The program uses Kennedy's critical speed formula.
Efe Ünal explained the benefits of software as: a corporate memory that keeps all the details under the project with a single record, flexibility to allow the modification of parameters, precision calculation, transparency of detailed information about the theoretical infrastructure used in the software, fast, time-saving calculation capability, customizable reporting:
Benefits of TAP software:
Creates corporate memory: Allows users to record files in TAP format. It collects all the tunnels of a project under a single file. Archives customer information, helps users keep up to date.
Has flexibility: It has the ability to define different inclination along the tunnel and to add unlimited vehicle type. Information on the emission values used for daily calculations can be changed by the user. In addition to calculating the external wind and fire induced pressure loss, value can be entered. Value can be assigned by the user instead of the calculated critical speed.
Precision Calculation: Fire point calculator range can be adjusted. Thanks to this feature, a precise and error-free analysis can be performed by reviewing the possibility of fire at every point along the tunnel. Generally, three scenarios, namely tunnel entrance, middle and exit, are calculated. With this software, it is possible to calculate how many meters it is necessary to perform, so a more precise calculation can be made.
Program Clearance:
Detailed information can be obtained from the help tab, about the equations used in the program content and the theoretical references. Fire condition calculation details and graphical representation feature. Daily ventilation accounts details are displayed with tables.
Fast, time-saving calculation:
For users who are not familiar with the interface of the software, it is possible to enter the data into Excel and import it into the program. The tunnel copy feature that facilitates data entry for a large number of tunnels in the project, as well as the ability to copy the required emission values for daily ventilation from Excel, offers time and speed benefits. Jet fan information is in the software. Daily and fire status accounts can be done with a single key. In addition to the ventilation, electrical and wiring are important for the user.
Customizable reporting: Report drafting, default report draft content, report preview, and PDF report output are available.
In the following versions; AutoCad plan drawings, jetfan optimization module, transverse and semi-transverse tunnel ventilation calculations and AutoCad tunnel geometry information reading features are among the features that will be added to the Aironn TAP software.”
