AIRONN brought together International Giant Names of Fire Safety at the "Experts Meet ”Seminar in Qatar.

AIRONN took the "Experts Meet" seminars, where the most competent experts of their professions participated as speakers and the each subject of which is more interesting than the other are addressed, to the international arena. It brought together important figures of international fire safety discipline at the seminar titled ”Ventilation System and Applications in Transportation and Buildings" held in Doha, Qatar's capital. Turkey's doyen name of the Fire Safety Industry, Prof. Dr. Ahmed H. Kashef, one of the international pioneers of fire safety discipline, was the opening speaker of the seminar which was chaired by the chairman of the session, Abdurrahman Kılıç.

AIRONN Fan Engineering specialization board took the "Experts Meet" seminars, where the most competent experts of their professions participated as speakers and where each subject that was more interesting than the other was addressed, to the international arena.

The seminar which was held on March 26, 2019 in Doha, Qatar's capital and titled as "Ventilation System and Applaications in Transportation and Buildings" was delivered with keen participation. The variety of international origins of the participants drew attention. The first speaker of the seminar which was chaired by Abdurrahman Kilic, was the National Security Council of Canada Fire Safety, Infrastructure Engineering R & D Manager Prof.Dr. Ahmed H.Kashef, relayed information under the main topic titled as "The Role of Modern Highway Tunnels in Fire Safety Ventilation Systems ", and under the subtopics such as insights on the fire incidents in the tunnels, fire dynamics in tunnels, the role of ventilation systems, fire protection matrix in modern tunnels, rising trends and case analysis. At the beginning of his speech, he mentioned the history of tunnel fires. Kashef continued his presentation with information on the dynamics of tunnel fires and human behavior. Kashef gave detailed information about The NFPA 502 Standard concerning the highway tunnels, the operating modes of the ventilation system, the parameters affecting the design of the ventilation system, the emergency ventilation strategies in the highway tunnel, the tunnel slope and the chimney effect, the methods of managing the combustion wastes, the types of mechanical ventilation systems, and included a case analysis at the end of his speech.

Yüksel Project Design Director Cihan Kayhan, in his presentation titled "Case Study of the Ventilation Systems in Metro and Highway Applications: 3-Storey Grand Istanbul Tunnel" gave information about the general outlines and features of the project: "A combined highway and subway system connecting the two continents under the Bosphorus; The Bosphorus crossing is 4.3 km long and 16.8 m in diameter. The Istanbul Tunnel, which is constructed as a single CPC tunnel, is expected to be opened in 2023. Especially in the crossing section of the 3-Storey Grand Istanbul Tunnel Project which consists of a 16 km long 2x2 lane highway system with the daily capacity of 120.000 vehicles, and a 31 km long double rail subway system with the daily capacity of 1.5 million, there are challenging factors in terms of engineering such as excessive hydrostatical pressure, variable ground conditions, wide diameter of the tunnel and the time limit for construction." Cihan Kayhan gave detailed information about the project's water fog system to be used for fire extinguishing system, alternative scenarios about emergency evacuation system, ventilation system design.

Duhan Portakal from Etik Engineering started his presentation titled "Smoke Control System Applications in Buildings" by giving information about the definition of smoke management system, especially the areas where it is required and the system design criteria. Presentation continued with the detailed information transfer about smoke control applications for specific areas such as the industrial kitchen hood systems, assembly workshops, retail stores; codes and standard fans both applicable in Turkey on fire and all around the world; the smoke management system components such as fire and smoke dampers, air handling units, passive fire security systems.

Alican Kabataş, from Ethical Control, explained the basic reasons of vehicle fires in the light of the statistical data on vehicle fires at the beginning of his presentation titled "Parking Smoke Control Systems." Kabataş then provided information about the design criteria by listing the main methods in car park ventilation. Also, in the presentation; technical detailed information about natural smoke ventilation methods, ducted smoke exhaust systems, jet fan applications, accurate and faulty application examples, CFD analysis examples were given and at the end of the presentation, the sample of the process for commissioning the smoke heat control systems of the closed parking lots was shared with the audience.

The event at the Crown Plaza The Business Park Hotel ended with an enjoyable dinner that allowed the exchange of information between speakers and participants.
